Outage or overload of the mobile networkDuring a major incident or technical failure, mobile networks can become slow, unreliable or completely unreachable. WhatsApp groups and phone trees break down.
With Allo, your core team and selected field contacts can continue exchanging short, secure messages via an independent mesh network.
Long-term power outage (>24 hours)A prolonged regional power outage can take out cell towers, Wi-Fi and parts of your fixed telephony. Municipal buildings are (partly) without power, emergency aid stations are activated and people are spread across the city. Regular apps and systems become unreliable or fail entirely.

Allo is designed to fit into your existing structures, not to replace them. We always start small and low-threshold, so that you and your colleagues can experience it in practice before making big decisions.
We follow a simple 4-step timeline:

We map your current crisis and fallback communication and listen to the main risks you see. Together we select 1–2 realistic scenarios in which to test Allo.

Based on the intake, we prepare a model of the intended mesh in the online Allo dashboard. Here you can add devices and fixed locations, assign roles to each device, define contact groups and view mesh scores. Finally, you can easily order the required Allo hardware."

You receive the set of Allo devices and clear instructions. You use them in at least one planned exercise and, where appropriate, in one real-world situation (for example a large event or planned outage).

Together we look at what worked well, what can be improved and where Allo adds value. You then decide whether to scale up, adjust or stop. There is no long-term commitment.

Doesn’t the safety region or police radio already cover this?

No. Allo does not replace existing radios or emergency services systems. It adds a lightweight extra layer for the municipality’s own teams and selected partners – especially where people now fall back on consumer tools like WhatsApp, SMS and email.
Is Allo difficult for colleagues to use?

No. We deliberately keep the devices and app simple. You configure them via Allo Plus and most people can send their first message within a few minutes. We support you with a short, practical onboarding tailored to your organisation.
How does this fit into our existing crisis plans?

We start by mapping your current plans and structures. We then position Allo as a fallback communication layer, linked to your existing groups (mayor, policy team, field teams, partners). We make concrete suggestions for including it in plans and exercise scripts.
What about privacy and information security?

Allo uses end-to-end encryption and is built with European privacy and security requirements in mind. We can give your CISO or information security officer a technical briefing and are transparent about our choices.
We work with a fixed-price pilot package so you know exactly where you stand in advance. Usually this is paid from the public order & safety or crisis management budget. We’re happy to think along about what makes sense in your situation
